Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28

It’s a gorgeous weekend in Houston and what better way to enjoy than to spend it outside?
Saturday, September 27, 8 pm, Opera Vista: Trouble in Tahiti at Bayou Bend. One of Houston’s most elegant backdrop sets the stage for a magical evening with Opera Vista honoring the 90th birthday of late composer Leonard Bernstein. Evening includes a selection of Bernstein favorites as a prelude to the main act. Gardens open at 7:15 pm and the central hall of the house will be open for touring until 7:45 pm. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and cash bar will be available. Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, 1 Westcott. Tickets $25 or $20 for MFAH members. www.operavista.org.
Sunday, September 28, 3 pm to 5 pm, Sundays in the Park @ Discovery Green
Sideshow Tramps consider themselves to be the stewards of past musical eras with a specialty in turn of the century Americana and its migrant influences. One might compare the music they create to a days proceedings on Ellis Island where the interviews involve chords instead of words. Free. www.discoverygreen.com.
Also! Sunday, September 28 marks the close of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s exhibition: END GAME - British Contemporary Art from the Chaney Family Collection — I am going to have to make a run there myself as I will finally have a chance to check it out. www.mfah.org.
