Join HYPA Today and Save
If you are already a member of HDA, then no need to pay to join. HYPA membership is separate but after June 1 passes, we’ll get that in order.
Annual HYPA Gala “The Picture Show” transformed Mosaic into the golden age of Hollywood with DJ Pooks providing the soundtrack and arts groups like Opera Vista, 1940s trio Alli & The Cats, Planet Funk Academy, live artist action provided by Jacqueline Levine and Soraya dazzled our eyes. Members always get a great discount to attend and it is our only fundraising event all year!) Special thanks to co-chairs Kathleen Galvan, Arabella di Bagno, April Beasley and Blakeley McCracken for making it happen! Check out pics here.
We soaked up rays and dollars at Hotel Zaza for a lovely, impromptu brunch fundraiser and caught up with members, friends and supporters!
Sipped and painted the night away for a relaxing evening of art therapy at Mindpuddles with good food, drinks and good company with our members creating art that was sold at an event to benefit the Houston Chapter of Big Brothers, Big Sisters. See us being creative here.
We gave you discounts to events with Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Society for the Performing Arts, Houston Grand Opera, Dance Salad and others to keep you entertained inbetween our members-only events.
We were in a festive mood with our annual Culinary Arts event with our favourite MadDog Catering at the helm providing plenty of deliciousness to eat and just a time to sit back and relax during the hectic holiday season.
Visited GGallery and had a private tour of Wayne Gilbert’s spectacular collection and home!
Participated in Theatre Under the Stars’ Spelling Bee including 3 of our smartest members up against other young professional groups in a bid to win a walk-on role in their upcoming stage production.
Enjoyed an intimate evening in the historic surroundings of the Magnolia Ballroom with CORE Performance Company and Mercury Baroque with a champagne reception with the artists after the performance.
Made sure you were on the invite list for some of the hottest parties.
And, of course, kept you up-to-date with our bi-weekly e-mail updates!

Wow!
Thank you to all that came out last night to the party hosted by Momentum BMW, HYPA, Houston magazine and High Fashion!
The place was filled to the brim and some of our mugs were staring straight back at us, which was a little eerie but quite the honor. And The Southern Backtones really rocked it, especially with my fave cover of Pulp’s Common People which I remember them doing many years ago…
Any way, if you have stumbled here and you are interested in joining, visit the JOIN page and you can still join for the pre-HDA move price of $50. After June 1, 2008, the membership price will jump to $65.
Or, just join our mailing list — which is free — but members get the special offers!
Thanks again for 3 great years and looking forward to the 4th!
